New Jersey gambling regulators have warned casinos to submit their plans for sports betting by the end of day Monday or risk not being approved in time for the start of football season, the Associated Press reported.

David Rebuck, director of the state Division of Gaming Enforcement, told the AP that casinos have known about the deadline since July 9 and that it also includes plans for internet and mobile sports betting, which no casino in New Jersey has yet been approved to offer.

Casinos that miss the deadline run the risk of not having their sports-betting operations tested and approved in time for the start of football season in early September.

“They’ve got to give us a reasonable amount of time to evaluate and test all this,” Rebuck said.

So far, four New Jersey casinos — Borgata and Ocean Resort casinos in Atlantic City, Monmouth Park racetrack in Oceanport, and the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford — are offering sports betting.

On the other side of the Delaware River, a trio of casinos filed petitions with Pennsylvania regulators to offer online gambling Friday, including the planned Stadium Casino in South Philadelphia, according to the Online Poker Report website. The other two came from Parx Casino in Bensalem and Mount Airy Casino Resort in the Poconos. Sunday was the deadline for Pennsylvania casinos to file for full online casino licenses in which they can offer all forms of online gambling. The license costs $10 million.

Stadium Casino in 2014 won the Philadelphia’s second casino license to join the already established SugarHouse Casino in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.

The $425 million, 200,000-square-foot casino will be located at 900 Packer Ave. near the sports complex, and would include a 240-room hotel, 2,000 slots and 125 table games, among other amenities.

After three years of delays and opposition from groups, Stadium Casino — a joint venture between Cordish Cos. and Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment Inc. (owner of Parx Casino) — looked set to move forward after SugarHouse dropped its appeal last November. But it still has not broke ground on the facility and noted in its petition that it could not comply with required information such as providing a number of employees because it hadn’t hired any to this juncture
