Dallas Keuchel will get the nod for the fourth time of the season in this one. Keuchel was stellar last time out, limiting the Brewers to only one run and struck out eight batters in seven innings in a tough 1-0 White Sox defeat. The veteran left-hander has been outstanding in all three starts and is sporting a 2.55 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP accompanied by a 2-1 record in 17.2 innings pitched. He has fared reasonably well in his career against the Tigers, earning a 4-2 record and a 4.05 ERA in eight outings.

The White Sox feature a very dangerous lineup with several home-run threats. They also have plenty of young talent including Luis Robert. The 23-year old center fielder was one of the top prospects in baseball and is displaying his talents already. Robert is hitting .322 with six RBI’s and owns an OPS close to 1 this month.

Chicago is finally ready to compete after a lengthy rebuild highlighted by a potent offense. They went on a big six-game winning streak earlier this season and should be contending for a playoff spot. Overall, their bats’ have cooled off. Tim Anderson is out for this one while Edwin Encarnacion is questionable.

The White Sox stand 16th in the big leagues with an average of 4.33 runs per game. They bring a 4.47 team ERA into this one, placing them 22nd overall.

Fulmer Makes Second Start, Tigers Sweep Pirates

The Tigers will have Michael Fulmer make his second start of the season. Fulmer made his first appearance since the 2018 season last month and was roughed up, conceding four runs including three home runs in 2.2 innings against the Royals. The former Rookie of the Year has battled arm injures for the last year after filing a 4.69 ERA in 2018. The Tigers are easing him back into action and he will likely be limited to 3-4 innings in this game. Fulmer has thrived against the White Sox in his career, posting a 3.17 ERA and a 1-2 record in eight starts.

The Tigers continue to surprise at the plate and are now up to a remarkable 21 home runs in 14 games accompanied by a .737 team OPS. They enter this series with confidence after a big series sweep in Pittsburgh this weekend.

Miguel Cabrera hasn’t not been hitting for average but is displaying power with four home runs along with eight RBI’s and a .786 OPS in 14 games played. The 37-year old DH has been feasted on the White Sox’ pitching throughout his career and tallied 11 RBI’s in 52 at-bats against the division foes last season.

Detroit stands fourth in the big leagues with an average of 5.23 runs per game. They bring a 5.21 team ERA into this game, pegging them down at 28th overall.
