Race 1
This looks pretty open with Mr Midtown expected to go close back in claiming company and Consumerconfidence another to consider having been narrowly beaten here last time. Survey has a wide draw to contend with while Way Out West has bits of form if rediscovering his best but SPIRIT MISSION arrives from Turf Paradise in good form and gets the vote to reverse earlier running on Turf with Sand Harbor now back on the main track.
SELECTIONS: 4-7-8-3

Race 2: Brew Casa found one too good over track and trip last time looking to end a long losing run while Apple County beat NURSE LIST on a sloppy track here in March. But the latter subsequently overcame a wide draw when going wire to wire for a four length success and Scott Young’s unexposed filly looks worth sticking with on that form. The remainder are hard to recommend with Camp Washita perhaps best of them. SELECTIONS: 8-3-1-7

Race 3: Floyd Wethey’s presence suggests Our Vision is preferred to four-year-old stablemate Jimmy Winne despite the former returning from an absence. To The Front and Baptism look likely improvers on the back of modest debut efforts but the same can be said of TOMMYHAWK, who led turning into the homestretch here when third on his introduction and should figure in the finish with normal progress. SELECTIONS: 7-5-9

Race 4: An open contest though Deep Explorer has had no luck with the draw and Thorpe D’Oro is upped in class after finishing a close-up fourth in a claimer here last week with Lindante behind. Towards The Light is another stepping up from claiming company but Seattle Thunder is at home in this grade and could go close. Sorryaboutnothing has been beaten since defeating STEPHEN’S ANSWER by only a neck in a rare handicap here last month. The latter re-opposes on more favourable terms and gets the vote representing Robertino Diodoro’s leading yard. SELECTIONS: 5-3-6

Race 5: Landry Kyle has returned a losing favourite the last twice now and finished well behind runner-up LOS SUENOS here last time. The latter was still beaten a long way on that occasion but the winner has gone in again subsequently and Andy Gladd’s filly gets another chance on that form. Posse Gone Wild also has something to find with the selection and is drawn wide along with Chiron Eclipse while Mizoney drops in class for her first outing of the year. SELECTIONS: 1-9-2

Race 6: Rocky Boy Indian has the past form at this level but has something to prove over this far judged on previous efforts. Ben’s Magic Stone finished ahead of SMOK’N POLICY here in March but thar was the latter’s first outing of the year and he subsequently reversed running when runner-up over track and trip last time. He gets the vote to go one better in this with Mega Honor and Fusaichi Flame closely matched on latest running.
SELECTIONS: 5-1-8

Race 7: Lazzarella has a shout back in a claimer while Veronica’s Dream finished well ahead of Given Kisses when scoring here earlier in the month though has drawn high today along with Ten Count Out. I’mthebossrightnow can figure again at this level while Jerrys Way has been winning lower grade claimers at Turf Paradise but DANEIRA (NAP) makes most appeal. This year’s victory at Turfway Park looks the best form on offer and the presence of a leading track jockey in Floyd Wethey is another positive.
SELECTIONS: 7-10-11-12

Race 8: Baydar beat Fool’s Paradise four lengths when winning a handicap here in March and can confirm running despite the slightly worse terms. But BLUE MOONRISE looks to have the stronger form having won at Remington last year and more recently at Oaklawn and Steve Asmussen’s filly should make a bold bid in this company. Flirty has been winning low grade claimers at Turfway while Yield won an allowance race at Mountaineer when last in action back in August. SELECTIONS: 3-1-8

Race 9: Lady Orchid should have the measure of She’s Shiney and several of the others once again but has drawn wide today along with Fiddlers Tsunami. A high draw was no problem for the latter when winning an allowance race here in March though she was beaten by THREE CHORDS in a stakes race at Remington last autumn with Spring Steen further behind. Kenny Smith’s mare was less than a length behind the winner in a more valuable contest than this at Oaklawn last time and looks the one to side with on that form.
SELECTIONS: 6-9-8-10

Race 10: Ginge found one too good over 6f here recently and can confirm running with third-placed Totality given the latter’s unfavourable draw. Baysider was winning at Charles Town earlier in the year and is not without a chance though Eurobadguy faces a tougher task after scoring here recently. But RIDE TO THE WIRE made every yard for a wide-margin success here last week and can go in again with Robertino Diodoro’s yard continuing to fire-in the winners. SELECTIONS: 7-11-4

BEST BETS:
