Crimson Tide to win the 2022 CFP National Championship. They outscored Alabama 27-9 in the second half en route to a 33-18 win in order to snap a 41-year title drought and to finally topple the Crimson Tide.

With the season just a few weeks out, these titans of college football are again atop the board to win it all in betting odds, though Alabama has inched ahead of Georgia after the schools opened as co-favorites. Ohio State and Clemson are the only other programs with better than 10/1 odds at this point in the offseason.

Here’s a look at the latest odds for the 2022-23 college football season.

Favorites to win the College Football National Championship

Alabama Crimson Tide (+180)

Nick Saban’s team has been a fixture in the National Championship game and atop betting boards for ages now. They’ve played in six of the eight CFP title games (winning three) since it switched from the BCS National Championship game in 2014. This program is as well-oiled a machine as you’ll find. So even with quarterback Bryce Young in the mix as the potential top pick in the NFL draft, oddsmakers aren’t betting against Alabama even after its loss to Georgia.

One significant change involves the addition of former Georgia wide receiver Jermaine Burton, who announced he would transfer to Alabama in May. Burton was second on the Bulldogs with 497 receiving yards and tied for second with five receiving touchdowns.

Ohio State Buckeyes (+300)

The Buckeyes are coming off a solid 10-2 season that culminated in a 48-45 Rose Bowl victory over the Utah Utes, but they ultimately missed out on the College Football Playoff. Ryan Day’s program will look to return to the big stage after losing to the Crimson Tide in the 2021 edition of the championship game.

Georgia Bulldogs (+350)

The Bulldogs won a college football championship for the first time in 41 years as they finally managed to defeat Saban and the rival Crimson Tide in the 2022 title game. There is already turnover with Burton among eight players who hit the transfer portal in January alone, but Georgia has been resilient under Kirby Smart since his tenure as head coach began in 2016. Oddsmakers are confident, at least for now, that the Bulldogs will once again be in the conversation next season.

Clemson Tigers (+800)

Clemson has appeared in four title games in the last decade, most recently falling to LSU in January 2020. The Tigers finished strong in 2021, winning six straight and topping the Iowa State Cyclones 20-13 in the Cheez-It Bowl, but it was a disappointing season on the whole as they finished 10-3, third place in the ACC Atlantic. Clemson’s poised for a rebound and may have found a new quarterback after head coach Dabo Swinney announced the signing of Northwestern transfer Hunter Johnson last month.
