Minnesota leveled the series against Cleveland on Friday night with a 4-1 win. The Twins and Indians will square off in game three at Target Field on Saturday night.
Right-handed pitcher Carlos Carrasco is set to make his second start of the season on Saturday night. He made his first start since May 2019 last week, picking up the win in impressive fashion. Carrasco threw 6.0 innings, striking out 10 batters. He was 6-7 with a 5.29 ERA in 2019 before being shut down for the year. Carrasco has been an excellent pitcher throughout his career, going 86-69 with a 3.81 ERA. He will be looking to put last year’s health battles behind him when he takes the mound on Saturday.
I like Cleveland to bounce back and grab a win in this game. Carrasco is a big reason, as he seems to have left last year’s issues in the past. He was sharp in his season debut and has some serious value as an underdog. Maeda was decent in his first start of the year, but his numbers from last season are much more concerning than Carrasco’s. Unlike Carrasco, it wasn’t an injury that derailed his numbers. The Dodgers clearly did not think too highly of him, as he was shipped off for prospects.
