Archived: Latest Superbowl Odds: Chiefs now the Favs

Prior to Week 7, the Tennessee Titans were 2-4 and looked to be heading toward a lost season. Three months later, the Titans are one win away from reaching Super Bowl 54 in yet another example of how unpredictable the NFL has become.

With only four teams remaining in the hunt for the Lombardi Trophy, Bovada has the Kansas City Chiefs as the +135 favorites to garner the hardware. The San Francisco 49ers (+165), Tennessee Titans (+600) and Green Bay Packers (+650) trail Patrick Mahomes and company at the shop.

Titans Continue to Raise Eyebrows

The Titans, who were +4500 long shots before the playoffs began, continue to rise above expectations. Tennessee pulled off the biggest upset in recent postseason history in the divisional round, knocking out regular-season MVP favorite Lamar Jackson and the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens 28-12.

Derrick Henry had a stunning 195 yards on the ground and Ryan Tannehill threw two touchdowns to lead the Titans to a date with the Chiefs in the AFC championship game. These teams have already met this season, with the Titans collecting a 35-32 victory in Week 10. The Titans opened as 7.5-point underdogs with a total of 52.

The Chiefs pulled off an improbable comeback from an early 24-0 deficit to beat the Houston Texans 51-31 on Sunday and reach the AFC title game for the second year in a row.

Packers, 49ers Set to Face Off in Santa Clara

In the NFC, the 49ers are set to play host to the Packers as touchdown favorites at Levi’s Stadium. San Fran took care of business in a 27-10 triumph over Minnesota, while the Packers edged out Seattle 28-23 in the divisional round.

Considering these teams already met in Week 12 – a 37-8 blowout by the 49ers – the Packers will have to erase those memories and start fresh. It won’t be easy to take down the 49ers’ vaunted defense, but this is not Aaron Rodgers’ first rodeo.

Despite beating the Seahawks, the Packers’ Super Bowl odds have held firm at +650. The 49ers’ chances improved from +290 to +165 after dispatching the Vikings.
