We’ve just entered the best part of the NCAA basketball season – conference play – and the Gonzaga Bulldogs remain head and shoulders above all others when it comes to 2021 March Madness odds.
The best basketball betting sites have Gonzaga as the +300 favorite in NCAA championship odds, dropping from +450 just three weeks ago.
Bettors and fans were robbed of getting to watch the highly anticipated Gonzaga-Baylor matchup due to COVID-19 but Gonzaga has since laid beatdowns on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Virginia Cavaliers. Five of the Bulldogs’ eight wins this season have come against ranked teams, three of them in the top 10. The Hawkeyes (+1000) are third in NCAA championship odds for the third straight week despite losses to Gonzaga and Minnesota.
The Baylor Bears, who throttled the sixth-ranked Illinois Fighting Illini 82-69 earlier this season, are second on the oddsboard behind Gonzaga at +700. Baylor had to cancel another game vs a ranked opponent in No. 17 Texas (+1400) on December 13 but the Bears and Longhorns will face each other in conference play on February 2, 2021.
Illinois, Tennessee and Wisconsin all have +1300 odds to cut down the nets in March. The Villanova Wildcats, who opened the season as the betting favorite in NCAA championship odds, now have +1400 odds.
