Who Won the 2019 PGA Championship?
Koepka cemented his place in PGA Championship history in 2019, posting a wire-to-wire victory to win the major for the second year in a row. Battling raging winds at Bethpage Black, Koepka had a seven-shot lead entering Sunday – a PGA Tour record – before finding himself up only a single stroke over the second-place Dustin Johnson down the stretch.
With Koepka fading in the form of four straight bogeys on the back nine, the American delivered with key shots on the final few holes to become the first wire-to-wire winner of the tournament since Hal Sutton accomplished the feat in 1983.
Koepka joined Tiger Woods as the only back-to-back winners of the PGA Championship since it went to stroke play in 1958. He became the first player to win consecutive titles in two majors at the same time after triumphing at the U.S. Open in 2017 and 2018.
